What's happening this week
Cheeks are filling out beautifully with fat and muscle — exactly the equipment needed for enthusiastic feeding later. All three have shed most of their fuzz and creamy coating by now.
Many triplets have already made their entrance by this point. If yours are still tucked in, they're simply collecting a little extra padding for their debut.
Three little wonders this week
- Those plump baby cheeks are muscle as well as fat, purpose-built for the strong sucking that feeding needs.
- Their little digestive systems are fully formed but won't really be tested until that very first feed — until now, you've done all the work for them.
- Most have settled into their final position and are unlikely to shuffle again.
The triplet twist
Very few triplet pregnancies make it this far, and by now your three together are the size of one very large single baby — which is exactly why most teams won't want to stretch things out much further.
Something to look forward to
- Delivery is very likely within the next week or two.
- Next week marks full term for multiples.
To Mom:
You're doing the final heavy lifting now, literally and figuratively. However birth unfolds, you're already an incredible mother to these three.
