What's happening this week
Tiny fingernails have reached the tips of tiny fingers, and the fine baby fuzz is starting to fall away. Their lungs are nearly ready for showtime, still rehearsing every single day like an orchestra tuning up.
It is properly cosy in there now — cosy as in no-room-to-swing-a-cat cosy. The big dramatic rolls have given way to sharp little jabs and shuffles as three roommates negotiate one small space.
Three little wonders this week
- Every major organ is built and ready except the lungs, which keep fine-tuning right to the very end.
- They have real hair on their heads now, and skin that has gone from see-through to properly opaque.
- Together your three now weigh more than a large housecat — most of your bump these days is simply babies.
The triplet twist
Babies born as triplets at this stage tend to do just as well as a singleton born at the same week — being a triplet doesn't make a baby more fragile on its own. Arriving early is the real factor, and you've cleared the hardest stretch of that.
Something to look forward to
- 2 weeks until 34 weeks, when many triplet trios arrive.
- You may get a final growth scan and a firm date for the big day very soon.
Why week 32 matters
Many triplet trios arrive from around here. Babies born now usually manage breathing on their own or with just a little help, and typically spend a couple of weeks in the nursery mastering feeding. If the hospital bag isn't packed yet, this is the week.
