What's happening this week
Three little heads are lifting off their chests this week, necks stretching out like they're finally getting comfortable in there. Legs are strong enough now to deliver a proper kick, and somewhere in your belly, three tiny hearts are working hard to keep everybody going.
Don't be surprised if you feel the first flutters earlier than the books promise — with three of them sharing the space, elbows and heels find you sooner. That little tap low on one side might just be someone stretching their legs for the first time.
Three little wonders this week
- Three hearts are now pumping more blood every single day, and that number keeps climbing all the way to birth.
- All three can sense light through their still-closed eyelids, and their eyes are starting to make slow little movements.
- Backs and necks are unfurling from that early curled-up shrimp shape into something more baby-like.
The triplet twist
Your doctor will likely start keeping a closer eye on your cervix from here, checking in every week or two — it's simply extra care that comes with growing three, not a sign of trouble.
Something to look forward to
- In the next few weeks comes the big anatomy scan, where you'll get a proper look at all three, head to toe.
- You're about 8 weeks from the viability milestone — a date worth circling.
To Mom:
You are doing something truly amazing, and feeling those first little flutters is such a special way for your babies to say hello. Give yourself grace as your body adapts; you are working incredibly hard growing three little lives at once!
