Week 14
Each baby is about the size of a peach this week
- Weight each
- 43 g · 2 oz
- Length each
- 8.7 cm · 3.4 in
What's happening this week
A fine, downy hair is spreading over three small bodies, and their little faces are limber enough now to squint, frown and pull faces at nobody in particular. Tiny kidneys are hard at work too.
Growth is picking up speed from here, and so is what's being asked of you. Extra protein, extra iron, and simply putting your feet up more often are all doing more heavy lifting than they might look like.
Three little wonders this week
- All three can suck their thumbs now, and someone in there may already have a favourite one.
- The roof of each little mouth is complete, and they're practising swallowing.
- Tiny livers and spleens are teaming up to help make blood cells.
The triplet twist
You'll likely need noticeably more protein, iron and calcium than someone growing just one baby — three little skeletons and three little bodies are drawing on you at once, so keep the good food coming and don't feel guilty about seconds.
Something to look forward to
- You're about 2 weeks from when many triplet mums feel that first unmistakable flutter.
- Roughly 4–6 weeks until the big scan where three little identities might be revealed.
To Mom:
Three little peaches are practicing their first facial expressions, and your body is providing the perfect, cozy stage for their debut. Remember to nourish yourself well, as you are the life-source for a whole little trio.
