What's happening this week
All three are stretching out and straightening up nicely now, opening and closing tiny hands. Little tooth buds are tucked under gums that won't see daylight for a long while yet.
They're moving constantly in there, even if you can't feel a thing — three small people somersaulting, kicking and even hiccupping, each one doing their own thing entirely independently of the others.
Three little wonders this week
- Each baby has started making their own blood cells now, tiny factories all of their own.
- Little noses are opening up, and some of your three may already be hiccupping away.
- Fingernail beds are appearing, and their faces are properly forming underneath.
The triplet twist
This window is an especially useful one for you, because alongside the lovely early look at your babies, it's also the best time for your team to work out exactly how your three are sharing space and support in there.
Something to look forward to
- You're only 1–2 weeks from the 12-week scan, a good look at all three where each baby is measured individually.
- You're about 5 weeks from booking in the scan where you might learn who's who.
To Mom:
Three little sets of hands are beginning to move independently, dancing in the space you've so generously provided for your figs. It's perfectly normal to feel the weight of this journey, but you're handling it with such heart.
